UAE embassy to open in Baku, Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov, currently visiting the United Arabic Emirates, held a number of meetings with senior officials of the said country.

The due announcement was made by the press service for the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.

In particular, Mamedyarov met with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zaed Al Nakhyan, deputy senior commander of UAE Armed Forces.

Mamedyarov presented the letter with an invitation from Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Artur Rasizade and stressed his hope that Sheikh Mohamed will soon visit our country.

The Minister noted that the activity of an embassy is important for the development of bilateral relations and touched upon the opening of UAE embassy in Baku.

In turn, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zaed noted that a delegation from UAE will visit Baku before him. Sheikh Mohamed said the UAE embassy will open in the near future.

During the meeting, the sides held discussions in the spheres of energy, tourism, economy, trade and development of cooperation between private sector representatives of both countries.

While discussing opening of air flights between Baku and Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed announced that Etihad Airlines will be instructed to consider this issue.

On the same day Mamedyarov met with his counterpart from the United Arabic Emirates Sheikh Abdulla bin Zaed and presented him the invitation letter of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to President of the Emirates Sheikh Khalif bin Zaed Al Nakhyan.
