Musavat parliamentary group: "The attack against the Azadlyg newspaper correspondent is a result of impunity"

The due announcement was made by MP Arzu Samedbeyli, voicing the statement of Musavat parliamentary group.

He noted that 15 attacks against reporters had been recorded by this time.

"This resulted in deaths and disabling of people. However, none of such crimes has been disclosed yet. We regard this incident as a continuation of attack on Halil on February 22 and demand participation of country's President in this issue and punishment of those responsible for committing the crime"

The issue affects country's image due to which Azerbaijan is among the last on the lists of human rights observance, which does not fit our country", Samedbeyli said.

Musavat also assessed the attack as a demonstration of merciless pressure of freedom of speech. "If this crime also remains disclosed, this will prove that it has been ordered by top officials", the statement says.
