Armenian Defense Minister: "Nagorno Karabakh can not be a part of Azerbaijan"

The due announcement was made by Armenian Defense Minister Mikael Arutyunan.

He said he does not understand  some political figures who wish to make friends with Azerbaijan. "If they wish to make friends with Azerbaijan at the cost of Nagorno Karabakh, I can not agree to it", the Minister noted.

He voiced confidence that the Armenian people will also not agree to it. "In this case what will we say to the people of those who died and were disabled in the result of hostilities in Karabakh? What did their sons die for?", the Minister noted.

Armenia's Defense Minister also  did not agree with the intention to make friends with Turkey. "We can not take the word "genocide" from our vocabulary and forget 1,500,000 victims", Armenia's Defense Minister announced.

Mikael Arutyunan also did not agree with the announcements on the reduction in the number of militaries. According to him, those who come out with such announcements are ignorant of economy and army. Arutyunan announced that Armenia has 1280 kilometers contact line, not speaking about the borders with Turkey, Iran and Georgia. If we reduce the number of military men down to 10,000-15,000 people, each kilometer of the contact line will be secured by just 7-10 military men. "It is impossible even in the absence of hostilities", the Minister noted.

He also noted that the government does not intend to raise the number of Armenians and bring it to several hundreds of thousands. "Today we have an optimal number of military men", Arutyunan concluded.
