Terry Davis concerned about the state of media in Azerbaijan

Mr.Davis said that the debates between opposition and authorities should not be only held in Parliament, but also should be reflected in the media.

The Secretary General said that all Council of Europe member states have media problems and it arouses concern especially in the South Caucasus.

He welcomed recommendations by Azerbaijani President to officials not to sue and imprison journalists.

Terry Davis added that the Council of Europe is pleased with recent economic development in Azerbaijan. APA
