President Aliyev to visit Egypt

Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev is scheduled to make an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt on May 6-8 at the invitation of Muhammad Hosni Mubarak.

The delegation to accompany Aliyev in the visit is composed of Interior Minister Ramil Usubov, Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rehimov, Economic Development Minister Heydar Babayev, Parliamentarian Miri Gambarov, Education Ministry international affairs department chief Mahir Aliyev and other officials.

Azerbaijani President will meet with President Muhammad Hosni Mubarak, Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif and chief of People's Assembly Ahmad Sethi Surur.

A number of interstate documents on education, youth and sport, agriculture, tourism, post system and consulate are expected to be signed within the visit. The working group for coordination of the documents is already in Egypt.

President Aliyev will attend the opening of a new building of Azerbaijani Embassy in Cairo.

Azerbaijan and Egypt have concluded over 15 various agreements, contracts and memorandum up to now. The documents cover spheres of culture, finance, economy, promotion of investments, health and pharmacology.

Azerbaijani culture days were held in Egypt in 2005, and Egyptian culture days in Azerbaijan in 2006. APA
