Azerbaijan, Venice Commission to debate on Election Code

"These debates probably will take place in Baku. Strasbourg can also host these debates later on," President Administration's socio-political department head Ali Hasanov was quoted by APA as saying.

He said though parties hold different views, there are agreed moments on the amendments to the Election Code.

"We oppose the opinion of the experts from the Council of Europe that the election commissions are dependent on some political forces' will. Azerbaijan stands for democratic, fair and transparent elections without dependence on any political will," he underlined.
