Azerbaijan is not going to cede Davit Gareji monastery complex to Georgia

03 April 2007 [14:08] - TODAY.AZ
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan - Khalaf Khalafov mentioned in the interview with 'Novosti Azerbaijan' that the question connected with historical monastery complex of Albania - Davit Gareji, is doubtful and has to be solved.

According to his statements, the question connected with historical monastery complex has not been brought up by the Georgian party at the session of the committee of demilitarization of Georgian-Azerbaijani frontiers.

Khalafov hopes that the question connected with this territory will be discussed at another session held by the committee of demilitarization of Georgian-Azerbaijan frontiers. Legal documentations and cartographical materials will be looked through as well.

This statement has been responded by Zviad Dzidziguri and calls Khalafov to restrain himself for making comments. Deputy also mentioned that the Georgian Government provoked them to make such comments connected with this question, because Davit Gareji has been abandoned by Georgians during 14 years.
