The authorities of Armed Forces General Staff will be expanded, and it will operate as half-independent body as in other NATO member states, military sources told the APA.
Defense Ministry's some offices and departments will be subordinated to it. Inspection Office and Military Registration and Enlistment Office will be under General Staff's command. Its Draft Department will be consolidated with the Military Registration and Enlistment Office.
The Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) signed with NATO envisages abolishment and unification of some Defense Ministry departments and offices.
the DM press service officer Ilgar Verdiyev told the APA that he is unaware of the information. But he stated that there will be some reforms in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the frames of the IPAP.
