The "horrors" of propaganda: Armenia-2031

There is a propaganda video on social media telling about what Armenia will be like in 2031 if Nikol Pashinyan remains in power and the Azerbaijanis return there. A completely poor product generated by a neural network is cooked up in the tearfully snotty style inherent in Armenian propaganda. A mother tells her son that she voted for Pashinyan in 2026 and that's how it ended.  The video was clearly shot by order of the revanchist opposition, it is possible that it was from Karapetyan's party. It all looks very stupid and funny, especially pitifully-the confused faces of the heroes of the video.

By the way, this is already a tradition for Armenian revanchists.

I remember that before the snap parliamentary elections in 2021, the opposition also distributed such poor video propaganda. I was very amused by the video in which an Azerbaijani "traffic cop" stops an Armenian driver on the road and fines him. And it became especially funny after, a year later, an Armenian was actually stopped by the Azerbaijani traffic police on the Goris-Gafan road and a fine was issued to him. The fact is that one of the sections of this road, built in Soviet times, passes through Azerbaijani territory.  We laughed, and our neighbors froze in horror - the pre-election video of the revanchists turned out to be so prophetic.

And here is another fruit of propaganda. Everyone probably remembers him too. Vicious bearded Azerbaijani security forces confiscate fish caught in Sevan from an elderly Armenian fisherman. The fisherman is in pain and rips up a ballot paper in support of Pashinyan.

The heroine of another video also refuses to support Nikol Pashinyan. A mother, whose daughter reads aloud a history textbook that says that Shusha is an Azerbaijani city, gets upset and throws the ballot for the ruling party in the trash.

These tools did not help the revanchists win the elections. And this is despite the fact that Armenia lost the war, lost the occupied lands and was left in a broken trough. But the opposition expects to continue to put pressure on the psyche of the Armenian society with its video products. So that they realize what "trouble" Nikol Pashinyan's retention of power threatens them with. The return of Azerbaijanis to Armenia was chosen by the revanchists as the main trump card against the current government.

Samvel Karapetyan and his party are particularly trying to manipulate this argument. During the election campaign of the Russian billionaire, the prospect of the return of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia to their native lands became the main horror story, which he is trying to favorably set himself against Nikol Pashinyan.

In every speech, in every post on social networks, Karapetyan paints terrible pictures of the future of Armenia in the event of the return of the Azerbaijanis. He urges not to vote for Pashinyan, so that Azerbaijanis do not return to Syunik, Vardenis and so on, because this is the most terrible thing that can happen to Armenia. Escalation, tension, a new war, and the loss of territories by Armenia in this case are small things. The main thing is not to let the Azerbaijanis back in. And to do this, we must choose him, Samvel, who will never allow the indigenous people to return to the lands of their ancestors. He will lie across the threshold so that they do not pass, he will do anything to preserve the "purity" of Armenia.

At the same time, the billionaire, who believes that his billions decide everything, promises the separatists Azerbaijani lands, claiming that sooner or later they will return to Karabakh and live there on their own terms happily, as before. And it absolutely excludes the prospect of Azerbaijanis returning to the lands where they lived for centuries and from where they were expelled as a result of ethnic cleansing. Karapetyan demands from Pashinyan to publicly swear that the Azerbaijani will not set foot in Armenia.

Won't step? Seriously?

Billionaire's nephew Narek Karapetyan, who heads the list of candidates of the Karapetyan party, infiltrated the Armenian state property procurement website and almost got hit when he discovered that Azerbaijan appeared on the list of countries whose citizens are allowed to participate in auctions for the sale of real estate and land in Armenia. Karapetyan Jr. tried to present this innovation as an alleged condition set by Azerbaijan for Armenia to sign a peace treaty.

According to Karapetyan, in early March, the Armenian Cadastre Committee reported that Azerbaijani citizens own 8 real estate properties in the country, including apartments, an apartment building and a public building. From this, the revanchist concludes that if Pashinyan retains power, a program of resettlement of Azerbaijanis to Armenia will be implemented.

It is interesting to observe how the political forces of Armenia manipulate numbers. When it came to responsibility for ethnic cleansing, everyone shouted about the alleged exaggeration of the number of the Azerbaijani population, which, according to Yerevan, was only a few dozen at the time of the outbreak of the conflict. "There were not 250,000 Azerbaijanis in Armenia," the propaganda screamed. The same propaganda that today speaks of 300,000 Azerbaijanis, whose return "threatens" the Armenians. Revanchists believe that 250,000 is not so "scary" as to take away votes from Pashinyan.

Well, there are certain advantages to this. At least in Armenia, they admitted that they had ethnically cleansed hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis. Previously, some politicians agreed that they were seeing Azerbaijanis for the first time in their lives. The issue of ethnic cleansing in Armenia has not been raised in the international arena either. It was as if these hundreds of thousands of people did not exist at all. It was only in December 2024 that they were first remembered within the walls of the United Nations. During the consideration of Armenia's periodic report at the 114th session of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, Committee member Chung Chinsung expressed surprise at the fact that the report contains many claims against Azerbaijan, while not a single Azerbaijani lives in Armenia. A member of the Committee asked for clarification from the representative of Armenia. Sweating with excitement, the representatives of the Armenian delegation had to admit that Azerbaijanis do not live in Armenia. However, they could not explain where 250,000 people had gone overnight.

So, we welcome the recognition by Samvel Karapetyan's gang of the indisputable fact of the expulsion of the second largest ethnic group from Armenia. Although the revanchists are trying to mitigate the negative effect on Armenia by replacing "return" with "resettlement," this trick does not change the essence.

Does Samvel Karapetyan understand that if Armenian voters are so stupid that they reject peace by voting for a revanchist, no patrons will be able to provide him with the comfort in which the Karabakh clan ruled? Today, everything is different, the realities are different, the geopolitical situation is different, and Azerbaijan is completely different. Does he really think that he will be able to dodge the topic of the return of Azerbaijanis to Armenia if he even mentions the return of Armenians to Azerbaijan?

We can explain to our neighbors what awaits Armenia if the revanchists come to power without any commercials. Let's explain in the words of the President of Azerbaijan, which were voiced in Zangilan: there are enough circles living in the political sphere of Armenia that hate the Azerbaijani people and the state, and if they come to power, then the Armenian people will be in big trouble.
