"The presidents Ilham Aliyev and Robert Kocharyan held negotiations on the problems presented to them by the co-chairmen".
This explanation was given to APA by the Russian co-chairmen of the Minsk Group Yuri Merzlyakov. According to his words, the scope of the negotiations' subject was wide enough.
"Not only the problem of returning 7 regions to Azerbaijan was discussed in the negotiations. This problem was not put forward as an absolute priority; the problem of returning the regions was among other problems discussed there".
Yuri Merzlyakov considers that a compromise variant can be achieved in the problem of returning the regions. The co-chairman said that he was not informed about the discussions held in Turkey on the problem of returning some occupied regions of Azerbaijan back. The co-chairman informed that, at present no negotiations were being held on changing the dialogue format.
"There will be necessity for delegations to join the negotiations; however, this is expected in the nearest future".
