42 political parties were registered in Azerbaijan as of 24 February 2005
This information was given to Trend by Fazil Mammadov, the head of the Department for Registration of Legal Entities of the Justice Ministry.

Mammadov also noted that the appeals by some organizations on the official registration were under consideration.

In compliance with the unofficial statistics, over 100 political parties were registered in the country so far.
