07 February 2013 [09:51] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan and Iran are closely connected with religion. Therefore, the development of relations with this country is Iran's priority, Iran's ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pakayin said in Tehran today, Iranian news website Nasimonline.ir. reported.

"There is no tension in relations between Iran and Azerbaijan, but there are differences of opinions," Pakayin.

He said that the will of Iranian and Azerbaijani officials is aimed at the development of bilateral relations.

"Iran is interested in reducing the differences of opinions and raising the level of cooperation with Azerbaijan," Pakayin said.

He said that the negative information in the Western press about the Iranian-Azerbaijani relations is being disseminated to harm relations between the two countries.

"Some Western media exaggerate an insignificant incident at the border and try to prevent the development of relations between Iran and Azerbaijan," Pakayin said.
