Barda bring together young dancers

The first ever Karabakh Cup Choreography Championship, organized by Azerbaijan Youth Union (AYU) and the Azerbaijan Dance Association (ADA), has ended in Barda.

More than a thousand young dancers from Baku and country's ten  regions, including, Barda, Agjabadi, Terter, Goygol, Ganja, Mingachevir, Sheki, Absheron, Agstafa and Shamkir took part in the championship, Trend Life reported.

The teams competed in different age categories in the following stykes: ethnic folklore, stylization of folklore (author's dance), classical dance, modern dance and bollywood (Indian dance).

"The special tension was during the nomination of the formations (large ensembles), in which representatives of six regions and eight ensembles came together." Judges were forced to take a technical break to make a decision on this nomination. "The cup system does not imply second, third and other places. There is only the winner of the Cup and laureates," said AYU Deputy Aziz Azizov.

"After a long discussion, the decision was made in favor of the "Alov" team led by Emil Panahov. However, the judges persuasively asked to note the main competitor - the ensemble "Fidanlar" from Mingachevir, which was literally a step away from the victory over the current champions of Europe. I congratulate all participants with such a grandiose holiday of dance and art. This day was written a new history of dance art in Azerbaijan. I express special gratitude to all the leaders who continue their work for the  development of our art among the younger generation," he added.
