Azerbaijani documentary awarded at int'l film festival

“The Native Hearth”, a documentary by Azerbaijani filmmakers, has received a special award in “Same difference” nomination at international “My biggest hometown” film festival in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia.

This festival showcases contemporary Asian films, documentaries and short fiction films, and also aims to encourage film trends in Asian countries. The festival provides an opportunity for young directors not only to learn the secrets of world cinema and film production, but also to participate in the formation of the Central Asian auteur cinema.

Partnering with notable film industry companies, film educators, directors, producers, and writers, competition provides a forum for talented filmmakers to be recognized for their work, creativity, and achievements.

“The Native Hearth” is a co-production between Azerbaijan (“Cinema house”) and Russia (“DS Films”). The production of the movie was funded by the Azeri Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Russia` Ministry of Culture.
