Music and Folk Week in due Baku

Baku’s Philharmonic garden as part of the Eurovision 2012 contest hosted a concert of folk and pop music and the exhibition of folk art yesterday. The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Executive Power of Baku and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Baku under the motto "Music and Folk week".

The exhibition features historical and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan, its rich culture, improving services. Open until May 27, the exhibition will also highlight folk art and national crafts, such as carpets, metal and stone items, embroidery, food and national costumes.

Along with exhibitions, Baku will daily host folk, jazz, pop, instrumental and classical music concerts and dance shows for the residents and guests of the city.

Over 12 art stands will showcase the works of Baku, Sheki, Ismayilli and Gobustan craftsmen.
Dynastic fine copper art master from Sheki Reza Mustafayev brought his unique works to Baku. He wants to show them to guests in Baku and probably sell.

“My father was one of the most famous copper masters of his time. My artworks are displayed in many countries around the world. I believe that Eurovision contest along with the promotion of our national music, will also contribute to the promotion and recognition of the national copper art,” he said.
