
On May 3, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) signed two Records of Discussions with the state institutions in Azerbaijan, the Agency reported.
Records of Discussions are to clarify the provisions for the Grant Arrangements to be concluded between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea and related government agencies in Azerbaijan.
For this purpose, Korean delegation visited Baku on April 28 - May 4, 2011 which was headed by Hee Sook Koh, Azerbaijan Country Coordinator at Central Asia & CIS Department of KOICA Headquarters.
Record of Discussions about the Grant Arrangement for the Project titled "Intellectual Property Rights Automation in Azerbaijan" between KOICA and State Committee of Standardization, Metrology and Patent of Azerbaijan was signed by Young-woo Kim, Resident Representative of KOICA Office in Azerbaijan and Ramiz Hasanov, Chairman of State Committee of Standardization, Metrology and Patent.
The objectives of this Project are to improve the efficiency and productivity in the management of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) to provide better services for the public and ensure sustainability of IPRs system in Azerbaijan through automation of IPRs system in Azerbaijan and realization of trainings.
Furthermore, Record of Discussions about the Grant Arrangement for the Project titled "The Establishment of Educational Information System of Azerbaijan Technical University" between KOICA, Ministry of Education and Azerbaijan Technical University was signed by Mr. Young-woo Kim, Resident Representative of KOICA Office in Azerbaijan, Elmar Gasimov, Deputy Minister of Education and Havar Mammadov, Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University.
The objectives of the Project is to establish Educational Information System, provide proper distance education learning opportunities for the students and enhance the skills and qualifications of Azerbaijani engineers and relevant specialist through an exchange of experience.
Both Projects will be officially launched after the signing and approval of Grant Arrangement documents by the Government of Azerbaijan and the Government of Korea.
