
In April, 2011, consumer goods and service prices fell by 0.3% in Azerbaijan.
According to the State Statistical Committee, foodstuff prices dropped by 0.7%, paid service prices and nonfood prices rose by 0.1% within a month.
"Last month price of rice, buckwheat, bread, chicken meat, fresh fish, egg, butter, sugar, lemon, orange, mandarin, banana, pear, herbs, cucumber, tomato, beetroot, garlic, onion and potato went down. At the same time, price of semolina, beef and mutton, chicken hip, sour cream, corn and sunflower oils, apple, quince, pomegranates, chestnuts, cabbage, carrot rise", said the Committee.
In April, price of non-food products - oil paints, varnish for parquet floor, window glass, cut woods, sawdust and wood-fiber boards, parquet and laminated parquet, brick, furniture sets kitchen, bedroom and guest room went up, prices of warm clothing and shoes, Nitro-paints, and water, cement, refrigerators, washing machines, gas stoves, air conditioner, vacuum cleaners slipped.
Last month, paid service prices went up in tariffs for international air passenger transportation.
