
Azerbaijan will allocate 1 bn. 325 mln. 61 000 AZN (US $1 bn. 656 mln. 326 000) from 2011 State Budget for defense expenditures, member of Parliament’s Economic Policy Committee Nazim Mammadov said.
Touching upon “Azerbaijan’s State Budget for 2011” draft law, MP said that in comparison with 2010 there was increase by 10% in the amount of defense expenditures. 1 bn. 236 mln. 900 000 AZN will be spent to defense forces, 83 bn. 303 000 AZN to national security, 2 mln. 200 000 AZN to applied research in defense and security sphere.
“Moreover, some means to defense sphere in part of investment expenditures of the budget is considered as well. It includes construction, establishment, creation and purchase and etc of some infrastructures”.
Note that, though 1 bn. 205 mln. 827 AZN was allocated from Azerbaijan’s State Budget for defense expenditures in 2010, in the middle of the year during reviewing of state budget, 400 mln. AZN in addition was allocated to that sphere.
Remind that, Interior Troops and Special State Guard Service included in the composition of armed forces are financed from category of law-enforcement bodies of the budget.
