Electricity quantity consumed in Azerbaijan in March revealed

Over 575 million kilowatt-hours of electricity was consumed in Azerbaijan in March 2010, Azerenerji JSC (national distributor of energy) said.

The total payment amounted to about 88%. Compared with the same period last year, growth in payments was 6 percent. In March, the resident population consumed more than 236.9 million kilowatt-hours of electricity with the payment amounted of 72%.

Balakan distribution networks saw the best indicator of the overall payment, including receivables of past months – 108.1%. The Sabirabad distribution networks saw the worst indicator at 45.6%. The highest rate of payments of the resident population including receivables was recorded in the Shirvan city energy network (104.5%), the worst - in Sabirabad distribution networks (38.3%).

According to the company, more than 1.7 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity was consumed in the first quarter of this year. The total payment amounted to about 92 percent. Compared with the same period last year, consumption dropped by 1.3 million kilowatt-hours and payments increased by more than 16%. The resident population consumed more than 709.8 million kilowatt-hours with the payments totalling 70.9% and with a growth of 2% from the same period last year.

In the first quarter of this year, the best indicator of the overall payment, including receivables of past months, was registered in Sumgayit city energy network (197.5%), the worst - Sabirabad distribution networks (44.3%). The highest rate of payments of the resident population including receivables was recorded in the Shirvan city energy network (102%), the worst - in Sabirabad distribution networks (38.3%).
