SOCAR oil terminal in Georgia expands the insurance system

30 April 2010 [10:15] - TODAY.AZ
From April 2010 a new medical insurance policy with a broader range of services came into force for staff of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) Black Sea oil terminal in Georgia (Kulevi).

Despite the increase in insurance fees, the new insurance program unlike the previous is expanded and includes services such as vaccination against influenza, hepatitis B and C; medical examination twice a year and dental care. Medical insurance covers a wide network of clinics in Georgia and Azerbaijan.

The terminal provides employees with health insurance since the beginning of operation (May 2008). As part of the award fee, medical insurance aims to save employees from uncertainty and high medical costs and, moreover, to receive their necessary and proper medical care.

According to the internal rules of the organization, in order to get right for an insurance policy, a new employee must undergo a waiting period. The waiting period implies a probationary period under an employment contract and lasts from three to six months. The company provides health insurance itself without any payments from employees. Employees of the terminal can also choose a special insurance program for members of their families.
