SOCAR to assess proposals on reconstruction

During preparation for the reconstruction of gas distribution networks, European standards were taken as a basis.

It is planned to begin reconstruction in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, where the largest number of subscribers is concentrated.

German company E. ON Ruhrgas has already prepared and submitted proposals for the reconstruction to SOCAR in accordance with modern requirements of gas distribution networks of Baku and Absheron.

According to preliminary calculations of E. ON Ruhrgas, investments worth 1,1 billion euros are necessary for the use of an annular gas supply system, expansion and modernization of the gas distribution network, construction of new pipelines, a flexible system of centralized control and accounting, registration, information technology, emergency-dispatch system of compressors, other equipment, including meters, smart cards and other work.

Moreover, another well-known German company RWE will submit its proposals to SOCAR. Negotiations on the preparation of proposals are being held with other European companies. They will be submitted in a certain period.

After getting all the proposals, SOCAR specialists will evaluate them. Afterwards, a final decision on the reconstruction of gas distribution network in Baku and Absheron will be made. In parallel with work on the reconstruction of the gas distribution system of Baku and Absheron, similar measures will be held in other areas of the country.
