Baku hosts Azerbaijan-Italy business forum

Today Azerbaijan-Italy business forum is being held, organized by Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development and AzPromo (Azerbaijani Export & Investment Promotion Foundation) in Baku.

According to Minister of Economic Development Niyazi Safarov, who spoke at the forum, the GDP rose by 9.3%, development of industry by 12.8% and agriculture by 3.5% in Azerbaijan in 2009. The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Italy was $ 4 bln.

The ambassador of Italy in Azerbaijan said that, trade turnover between two countries was 4 bln. euros. The deputy minister of Economic Development of Italy Adolfo Urso pointed out that, several Italian companies operate in Azerbaijan in construction sphere.
