The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), that started developing use of alternative and renewable energy sources, is not yet ready to begin investments in development of alternative types of fuel.
SOCAR Vice President for Environment Mukhtar Babayev says that such project is very expensive.
“I don’t think that in the next few years SOCAR will be ready to invest in alternative types of fuel. But we are going to display an interest to the field, try to be aware of affairs in it, participate in all business events organized on the theme and adopt foreign countries' appropriate experience,” he said.
