Association of Credit Unions of Azerbaijan joins another international organization

On March 17, at its 69th annual meeting in India, the Association of Asian Confederations of Credit Unions (ACCU) officially accepted to membership the Association of Credit Unions of Azerbaijan (AKİA).

In this regard, Chairman of the AKİA Board Elchin Bagirov will serve as a member of the ACCU.

AKİA was established in 2003. The main purpose of it is to promote credit unions (CUs) at both the regional and international levels, facilitate the creation of new CUs, provide training for members of the CUs in order to improve the quality of their work; networking CUs with donor organizations, protect the rights of the CUs; lobbying legislation related to their activities.
