Azerbaijani Minister of Industry and Energy: SOCAR's world reputation will allow to draw in foreign investors to Azerbaijani chemical industry

"Currently, SOCAR has great potential. So, I think it reasonable for Azerkimya to join SOCAR," minister said today.

He said that the chemical sector has a direct relationship with the oil and gas industry. Such structural changes might have been done before. But there was no opportunity for this.

"But at this stage, SOCAR has all the necessary opportunities to develop petrochemical industry", Aliyev said.

Minister said that SOCAR's reputation on the world market will create opportunities to attract foreign investors to the chemical industry of Azerbaijan.

SOCAR's deputy president for ecology Mukhtar Babayev monitors the implementation of tasks arising from Azerbaijani President's decree on the improvement of governance in the petrochemical industry. According to the decree, "Azerkimya" state company was transferred to SOCAR.
