Azerbaijan increases gold production up to 21.6%

In January of the current year Azerbaijan increased its gold production up to 21.6 percent, General executive director of “Anglo-Asian Mining Company”, president of Azerbaijan International Mine Operation Company Rza Vaziri said.

According to Vaziri, in January “Gedebey” gold ore has increased gold production from 2,863 up to 3,483 ounces.

It should be noted, in “Gedebey” ore gold production was launched in July, 2009. Nearly 14,848 ounces of the gold have been produced since then.

Vaziri also noted that the company plans to increase gold production in 2010.

Until July of the current year the company intends to increase gold production up to 25,000 ounces.

AIMOC participates in the Deal of Output Share. According to the contact, signed for 30 years, Azerbaijan’s share is 51 percent while British  “Anglo-Asian Mining Plc." holds 49 percent.
