Azerbaijan's military equipment production sees 3-percent rise

Addressing the meeting Defense Minister Yaver Camalov noted that 2009 was successful year for MDA.

Minister underlined new fields established in the sphere of military equipment production, engineering, instrument making industry, electrical engineering, communication and information technology which maintains modern standards.

Azerbaijan participated at the IDEF-2009 international military exhibition held in Turkey with its military equipments created at the MDA plants.

Azerbaijan’s participation with its national military products in such exhibition drew attention of other countries.

Minister Camalov said in comparison with 2008, capacity of military equipment produced by MDA in 2009 has raised up to 3 percent and civil production to 20 percent.

Totally, last year 586 equipment, 350 of which are assigned for defense matters, have been produced by MDA.

”Today Ministry of Defense cooperates with companies of other developing countries in the sphere of aviation, navigation, instrument making and other fields”, added the Minister.
