28 December 2009 [14:10] - TODAY.AZ
The Azerbaijani Transport Ministry has put two large bridges into operation in the Azerbaijani North-West regions.
The bridges have no precedents in the Caucasus and the CIS area.

Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov participated in the inauguration of the highest bridge of the Caucasus in the Tovuz region of Azerbaijan.

The new bridge allows cars to shift to the ring road without entering the center of Tovuz.

The new bridge's height is 35 meters, length - 278 meters and width - 14 meters.

The bridge has five spans. The bridge was built over the Tovuz River.

The ministry also commissioned a new bridge in the Zagatala region.

The construction of the bridge started in 2007. The bridge passes over the Tala River.

The bridge's length is 172 meters, width - 11 meters and height - 26 meters. Roughly 4,000 cubic meters of cement and 600 tons of metalware were used during the construction.
