Japanese gov't funds eight social projects in Azerbaijan

25 December 2009 [14:27] - TODAY.AZ
The Government of Japan has allocated 8 more grants, amounting to a total of $763,982, to Azerbaijan to help the country improve its healthcare, educational, environmental and social sectors.
The money is given as part of Japan`s Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP).

The grant assistance document will be signed today at the Japanese embassy in Baku.

The GGP, part of Japan's Official Development Assistance to developing countries, is aimed at supporting non-governmental organizations and community based organizations working specifically in the social development sector.

It provides flexible and timely support to small-scale development projects, which aim to improve the social well-being of the people at the grassroots level.
