USAID to help Azerbaijan boost NGOs

The State NGO Support Council under Azerbaijani President and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at boosting the activity of Non-Governmental Organizations in Azerbaijan.

The document was signed by the Council's Chairman Azay Guliyev and USAID Azerbaijan head Jonathan Conley.

Under the agreement, Azerbaijan and USAID will work together to bring the country's practice of government funding for NGOs to world standards, develop NGOs' activities and raise public awareness about the possibilities of involving NGOs in the process of socio-economic development.
