U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy is on visit to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan and the U.S will discuss regional energy issues in Baku.
U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel B. Poneman is leading a delegation to Azerbaijan Oct. 4-6, 2009, to promote cooperation between the U.S. and Azerbaijan and discuss national and regional energy issues with senior government officials and key representatives from the private sector.

Daniel B. Poneman was nominated by President Obama to be Deputy Secretary of Energy on Apr. 20, 2009; he was confirmed by the United States Senate on May 18, 2009.
