Sixty hotels to be put into operation in Azerbaijan soon: tourism minister

“A total of 60 hotels are being built. This is a very good indicator, because in 2003, for example, only 2 hotels were put into operation in Azerbaijan. These figures are steadily increasing from year to year,” he said.

Garayev said that there are currently 270 hotels licensed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Azerbaijan.

"As many as 79 of them operate in Baku. If we take the set of places of residence, which hotels provide the tourists, this figure is 28, 286. Nearly 8,000 of them account for Baku,” the minister said.
