Earthquake that occurred in Georgia on Sept. 7 at night did not affect schedule of construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway which will connect Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, Azerbaijani Railway Office Spokesperson Nadir Azmammadov said.

Earthquake did not affect daily work of Georgian railway as well. Great amount of oil and oil products are transported from Azerbaijan to Black Sea ports via this railway.
"Earthquake did not affect construction work. We have not received any information regarding any problems with construction," Azmammadov said.
Operations to build new railway are underway in accordance with the schedule. It will be put into operation in 2011, Chief Engineer at the Azerbaijani Railway Office Gurban Nazirov said.
