Unstable weather not to affect Azerbaijan's crop capacity: minister

"I would not say that agricultural production will decrease since the agrarian sector in Azerbaijan sees sustainable development," Abasov said.

However, unstable weather impacted crop yields in some regions of the country in 2009, Abbasov added.

"By the end of this year overall [agricultural] growth is expected to increase 6 percent, roughly the same as in 2008," Abbasov added.

Growth of agricultural production was 6.1 percent in 2008.
