Turkey considers Nabucco and South Stream to be parallel rather than alternatives to each other, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

On August 6, Turkey agreed to participate in Russia’s South Stream project. The project costs ?10 billion with capacity of 63 billion cubic meters per year.
Turkey also supports Nabucco gas pipeline project. Intergovernmental agreement on the construction of Nabucco gas pipeline was signed in Ankara on July 13. Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Austria signed the agreement. The project costs ?7.9 billion with capacity of 26-32 billion cubic meters per year.
