Two Azerbaijani mobile operators launch negotiations to settle differences

23 July 2009 [17:30] - TODAY.AZ
Azercell and Azerfon have launched talks to settle differences regarding cut-off of interconnection channels, Azercell said.
Considering comfort and interests of Azerfon subscribers, Azercell has decided to open interconnections with Azerfon until the negotiations are finished.

On July 22, Azercell announced that it will cut part of the interconnections with Azerfon. Azercell said if Azerfon does not take steps to pay debt, the remaining channels will be closed as well.

Azercell attributed its move to Azerfon’s debt worth 11 million manat which represents significant assets for the company.

On July 22, the court decided against cutting interconnections between the two mobile operators. Otherwise, Azercell will hold responsibility under the legislation.
