Head of Iran’s national gas company Azizullah Ramezani says Iran’s involvement with filling up Nabucco is “quite possible”, Fars news agency reported.

“Given the fact that the countries that have signed the Nabucco agreement do not have sufficient potential for filling up the gas pipeline, Iran’s involvement is quite possible,” Ramezani said.
He said it is a long-term project adding Iran can supply 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year via this route by 2014, the time when the its construction will end.
Ramezani said Nabucco project does not compete with current gas pipelines and those being built by Russia and Iran. “It will meet only part of the European Union's gas needs and become one of the sources for these needs. All depends on the volume,” he said.
