Azerbaijan plans to enter the World Trade Organization with status of developing country, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev said in Geneva at a final meeting of the working group on Azerbaijan’s WTO admission.

“We plan that Azerbaijan will be admitted to the WTO as a country with developing economy,” Azerbaijani ruling party Web site quoted Mammadguliyev as saying.
He said Azerbaijan seeks WTO admission on suitable terms.
“Reduction in dues and promoting agriculture are being discussed at the moment. The WTO insists that Azerbaijan will enter the organization with status of a country with developed agriculture. But we intend to enter it as developing country,” Mammadguliyev said.
