Average interest rate on physical persons’ deposits hits 12 percent in Azerbaijan

As of June 1, 2009, average interest rate on physical persons’ deposits in national currency reached 12 percent, Azerbaijani Central Bank said.

Average rate on legal entities’ deposits in national currency totalled over 8 percent.

The estimates show that total volume of deposits of physical persons and legal entities totalled 3.215 million manat as of June 1, 2009.

Deposits of physical persons dropped more than 6 percent in previous months and growth of deposits of legal entities dropped 2.1 percent.
