Gazprom to buy 500 mln cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas

Beginning from January 1 of 2010 Gazprom will start purchasing Azerbaijani gas at 500 mln cubic meters, said Gazprom head Alexei Miller by results of talks between Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia Ilham Aliyev and Dmitri Medvedev in Baku, according to ITAR-TASS.

"The agreement envisions purchase of Azerbaijani gas by Gazprom from January 1 of 2010", said he "First, the volume will equal 500,000,000 cubic meters and then there is a plan to raise the volume".

"Purchases will be carried on the basis of the price formula", said head of Gazprom, "Basic price is commercially attractive for our Azerbaijani partners".
