Georgian Prime Minister leaves for Baku

A two-day visit of Georgian delegation led by Prime Minister of Georgia Nikoloz Gilauri to Baku, Azerbaijan, started Monday. The Premier will participate in the 16th international conference on oil and gas from the Caspian fields.
The Conference will be opened June 2 by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The conference will be attended by the representative of the U.S. Department of State for Eurasian energy issues Richard Morningstar, the Russian deputy energy minister Sergey Kudryashov, Iranian Oil Minister, Minister of Energy of Turkey.

Gilauri will hold  meeting with Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasi-Zade, the Minister of Transport Ziya Mamedov and will make a presentation at the conference.

During the visit it is scheduled to sign a memorandum between Georgia and Azerbaijan on deepening cooperation in the field of transportation. From the Georgian side the document will be signed by chief adviser to Prime Minister Vakhtang Lezhava, Azerbaijan - Head of Legal Department under Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Murad Najab.

The Georgian delegation includes Minister of Energy Alexander Khetaguri, Chief Adviser to the Prime Vakhtang Lezhava,president of the International Oil and Gas Company of Georgia Zurab Janjgava and chief project manager of Akhalkalaki-Kars Bidzina Bregadze.
