MP: Oil price will not be changed in the state budget of Azerbaijan

Chairman of the Parliament’s Economic Policy Committee Ziyad Samadzadeh said the amendments would cover only the social and investment expenditures. He said the investment programs considered in the budget would be reviewed again. Some of these programs can be postponed and social projects expenditures can be increased. Samadzadeh said it was important to review the state budget in current situation and added that it needs to strengthen the implementation of social programs in Azerbaijan. “We have to use existing opportunities to develop the ownership and to provide the development of agrarian sector and the access of the agricultural goods to the local and foreign markets for minimizing the impact of the global economic crisis on Azerbaijan”. Samadzadeh said oil price wouldn’t be changed in the state budget. He said if the oil would be sold lower than 70 $ p/b, the deficit would be met by the resources of the State Oil Fund. MP said the budget would be reviewed in May.
