A Memorandum on cooperation in transport between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) envisages bilateral cooperation between the two countries in motor, air and railway transport, a source at the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry said on April 23.

The source said the UAE is interested in developing air transport between the countries. A great attention has been attached to motor conveyance, as well.
"Moreover, after finishing construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, they [UAE] are interested in developing transit railway conveyances via the route and then via the Turkish ports to Dubai," the source said.
The Azerbaijani Transport Ministry and Economy Ministry of the UAE signed a protocol on bilateral cooperation in transport between the two countries in Baku on April 22. The protocol was inked during the visit of the UAE delegation led by Economy Minister and Chairman of Federal Transport and Civil Aviation Administration Sultan bin Said Al-Mansuri.
