Azerbaijan International Bank becomes most stable credit institution in Europe amidst global financial crisis

Board of Directors of the Brussels-based European Economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry (EEIG) announced the Azerbaijan International Bank (AIB) as the most stable credit institution in Europe amidst global financial crisis, AIB told APA-ECONOMICS.
AIB strengthened its positions in the local market of banking services, becomes the largest credit institution in the region one of the leading holdings in Azerbaijan. EEIG paid attention to AIB participation in the World Economic Forum and its initiatives. AIB extended its assets by 68% to AZN 4.316.7 million in 2008. The bank’s credit portfolio was 8 % of GDP last year and EEIG estimated AIB share in the national banking system as 42-43 %.

EEIG was established by the leading business institutions in 1998. European countries, USA, Saudi Arabia, Russia and China are EEIG members.
