International youth festival starts on occasion of Novruz

"The festival Novruz-2009, held on March 16-22 is aimed to familiarize young people of the world with traditions, history and values of Azerbaijai people, promote intercultural exchange of youth. The festival is organized by the Ministry of youth and sports and public association "Forum of students of Europe and Baku", said the source.

Notably, about 30 participants of the festival from Japan, Ukraine, Germany, Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Poland, Moldova, Jordan and some other countries will attend seminars on tolerance, local traditions and globalization, role of culture in the contemporary world.

The organizers plan that the festival participants will also celebrate Novruz in Azerbaijani families, take part in festivities and visit historical monuments of the country.
