
The State fund of social protection is planning to sign intergovernmental agreements aimed at social protection and provision of pension rights of labor migrants by 2016, according to the press release of the fund, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
"Azerbaijan has already held preliminary consultations with a number of countries to sign intergovernmental agreements on mutual social protection of labor migrants. In particular, such talks were held with Saudi Arabia, Israel, Turkey, Germany, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Iran, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia", says the press release.
At the same time draft agreements have already been prepared with a number of countries. In particular, consultations continue with Russia, Belarus and Israel for signing an agreement.
"In the coming six years in frames of the state program of pension-insurance system development, the state fund of social protection plans to sign such agreements with a number of countries were the number of Azerbaijani labor migrants is high, which will allow to ensure issuance of pensions to them in the future", says the statement.?
