President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev considers it necessary to reduce country's dependence on oil to minimum in the future.

"We will pay attention to stimulation of the creation of competitive production so that fully minimize the dependence on both the volume of production and oil price", he said in his interview to ITAR-TASS.
"Oil provides wealth, capital inflow, but it does not create job", said the head of the state.
President of Azerbaijan considers it "natural" that Azerbaijan paid a great attention to issues of "effective regulation" of oil and gas resources, diversification of their supplies and ensuring of energy security".
"We have attained everything that we were planning but at the same time among the main priority tasks was reduction of dependence on the oil factor and I think we have managed to attain great progress here, therefore the development of the non-oil sector in Azerbaijan was not slower than the oil sector", noted Aliyev.
"Through the past five years Azerbaijan has created 766,000 new jobs of which 550,000 are permanent. A powerful infrastructure was created in all regions. Poverty rate in Azerbaijan has dropped from 49 and 13% through five years. This proves effectiveness of both economic reforms and conducted social reforms in our country", noted he President.
