Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Ismet Abbasov is positively assessing the situation in agriculture.

According to him, taking part in the opening of the center of agrarian service in Calilabad, the situation in agriculture is normal.
He said agriculture outstripped industry by the growth rates for the first time in 2008: "6.1% growth rate is fixed in agriculture, against 6$ in industry".
He voiced confidence that the tendency will continue in 2009: "In 2009 we plan to gather 2 million tons of grain if weather conditions are favorable", noted the Minister.
As for the world crisis, Ismet Abbasov said: "Crisis is not dangerous for us, as we produce 90% of necessary goods".
