Ukrainian ambassador to Azerbaijan: "Official Kiev is not against implementation of Nabucco project"

He said though Nabucco pipeline does not pass Ukraine, official Kiev supports this idea as it will allow preserving real gas prices.

"Therefore Ukraine will remain the main transit country of Russian gas to Europe. On the other hand, Ukraine is among the most famous pipe producers in the world. Our production is now sold in Azerbaijan as well. Therefore, Ukraine might produce pipes for construction of the Nabucco pipeline.

And the most important is that if Azerbaijan says "yes" to the Nabucco project, Ukraine, as a strategic partner, will support official Baku. We will say "yes" by all means, as this is a strategic partnership to support each other, even when it is not directly profitable for you", said the diplomat.
