Natik Aliyev: "Azerbaijan has received proposals of Turkey and Greece on purchases of natural gas"

Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy and Industry Natik Aliyev announced that the Azerbaijani side has received proposals from Turkey and Greece on purchases of natural gas.
Day.Az reports with reference to Turkish Zaman that Natik Aliyev said Azerbaijani side is working to sign an agreement with the Turkish government.

According to Aliyev, the agreement with Turkey is related to the issue of transit of Azerbaijani gas. He said in the framework of the first phase of the development of Shahdenniz gas field Azerbaijan supplies gas to Georgia and Turkey.

"After implementation of the second stage of the development of the Shahdeniz field the annual production will be 14 bln cubic meters of gas. Of this volume, 3 bln cubic meters will meet inner consumption, while the remaining 11 bln cubic meters will meet export. This volume fully meets the demand of Turkey and Greece. In this connection, Azerbaijan has received proposals from these countries. Currently, these proposals are considered by the government", said Aliyev.

He noted that on the first stage Greece will be able to get 1 bln cubic meters and further 3 bln cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas.
